Tiffin Bay

Posted by: Wen Ching In: Bar

After our dinner at Crystal Jade, we were strolling in Bukit Bintang area and out of the blues, I suddenly feel like going to Tiffin Bay as I haven’t been to this place for ages. Starhill wasn’t very far from Lot 10 so we went straight there.

Tiffin Bay is owned by YTL Corporation Berhad, so no doubt this would be another fancy and outstanding restaurant. The entrance to this jazz lounge is embellished with an open bar and a display of various desserts.

The ambience of this lounge is fantastic.

As usual, the lightings were amazing and you could sit back and listen to enjoy to the live jazz band music.

You can actually see Pavilion shopping mall from here. Before Pavilion was built, you can actually see the entire Kuala Lumpur Twin Tower from here. The view was excellent.

We read from their website which stated that their fibre optic wall measures 42m x 14m and that it was one of the world’s largest customised and treated light effects.

The seats were really comfortable and they look so bright and colourful.

On the left, it’s our strawberry extreme smoothies for RM16, it tasted quite good but somehow not up to our expectation, we preferred the strawberry taste to be stronger. Instead of the usual chocolate milkshake that we would order, we decided to give this chocolate mint milkshake a try. Priced at RM16, this tasted great as the sense of chocolate mint of was quite strong and it was smooth and creamy.

Of course, we wouldn’t miss out any chance to have their dessert. After spending some time choosing from the display, we decided to have this combination dessert with apricot tart, fruity yogurt with orange and strawberries and chocolate brownies for RM10. The serving was rather small but the good thing is that we get to try various types of dessert. Let’s start from the left, the apricot tart was rather delicious. Topped with raspberry, the apricot cake went well with crushed nuts. The slender cup was filled with orange and strawberry yogurt which tasted quite good too as it wasn’t too sweet. The chocolate brownies was the best among all. The texture was very smooth and we enjoyed the rich chocolate taste.

Besides all these, Tiffin Bay also serves cocktails, mocktails, wine etc. For tea time, they actually offer a tea time set for RM15 serving choices of pie or quiche with coffee or tea. Though this place is a little expensive, we still think that it’s worth a visit, for its desserts, drinks and environment.
