Chong Ko Hakka Noodles (彰哥客家面家)

Posted by: Wen Ching In: Chinese Food

I have never been to Kuala Lipis before, neither have I heard much about that place until I found out about Chong Ko Hakka Noodles in Pandan Indah. I was impressed with their Hakka noodles on the first time I had it, so we decided to go back for more and this time, sharing to our readers about this place.

Chong Ko Hakka Noodles
Located near Pantai Hospital, we made a few wrong turns before arriving at Chong Ko Hakka Noodles. The area was rather crowded and parking was definitely an issue for us.

Interior, Chong Ko Hakka Noodles
Nevertheless, we found a parking and happily sat down in the restaurant while waiting to order. The restaurant was still very crowded when we got there, even though it was a rather late lunch .

Original Pork Ball Hakka Noodle, Chong Ko Hakka Noodles
We ordered an Original Pork Ball Hakka Noodle (原味肉丸招牌粗面) for RM4.80 for a small portion. We opted for the thick noodles. The handmade noodles were healthy and springy, it was topped with minced meat and spring onions which gave the noodles extra taste and aroma. The pork balls were very good as well, however, it has a rather strong porky taste which some might not enjoy.

Original Fish Ball Fine Noodles, Chong Ko Hakka Noodles
We also had the Original Fish Ball Fine Noodles (原味鱼丸生幼面) for RM4.70, also for a small portion. The fine noodles were very good as well, nice and chewy. However, we preferred the thick noodles which had more of a bite.

Chili sauce with Hakka Noodles, Chong Ko Hakka Noodles
The best part of Chong Ko’s noodles was their chili sauce. Although the noodles were already very good on its own, we enjoyed adding in their chili sauce into the noodles and eating it drenched and mixed with their Hakka chili sauce. It was rather spicy and had a kick to it, definitely something not to be missed when you eat in this place!

Overall, we really liked this place and would recommend our readers to try it out. We would definitely go back for more, and might also try Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee which was located in the neighbourhood.

Simple Person, yup, you should give this place a try! Are the non hand made ones better than the hand made ones?
