Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao (翡翠拉面小笼包)

Posted by: Wen Ching In: Chinese Food

After reading numerous positive reviews about this restaurant, we finally had the chance to try it out! It was our first time visiting this place even though we’ve passed by here many times.

The restaurant is situated on the ground floor of Lot 10, it is situated near Secret Recipe.

The interior of the restaurant, tidy and pleasant.

The drink on the left is lemon drink with barley (柠檬薏米水) for RM3. It tasted quite average. The one of the right is the water cress honey drink (西洋菜蜜) for RM3.50. This would be something that we would recommend to you. It tasted rather refreshing and naturally sweet, we enjoyed this drink a lot.

Of course we wouldn’t miss out our chance to order their well known Shanghai steamed pork dumpling (上海小笼包), more commonly known as xiu long bao. Priced at RM8 for 4 dumplings, this xiu long bao tasted fantastic, much more impressive than the one that we had in Dragon-i few months ago. The skin was really thin and the broth was really sweet and the meat was really tender and juicy, this dish alone would be a reason for us to revisit this restaurant.

Anyway, knowing about their infamous la mian, also known as Chinese hand pulled noodles, we couldn’t resist to order this la mian in hot and sour soup (酸辣汤拉面). Priced at RM12, this bowl of noodles did not let us down as the soup tasted spicy and sour and very appetising. The la mian too, tasted good as it was really springy.

Ys had this la mian with beef in chilli oil (红油牛肉拉面) for RM13. The soup was quite mild and it wasn’t too spicy, the texture of the beef was rather firm. Overall, it tasted very good.

Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Service was rather speedy. There are other Crystal Jade outlets located in MidValley, Pavilion and The Gardens. There were many other dim sum and dishes that we wanted to try out, will revisit this restaurant again for its quality Chinese food!

Actually I like this xio long bao then the one in Dragon-I. This is one of the nice place to dine if you’re some where around there.
