Another post dated back to June 2008. I was happy to know that my father discovered a nice restaurant for dim sum near my place. Without much hesitation, we went to this restaurant for dinner on a weekend.
Do note that parking can be really hard to find in this area, especially during lunch and dinner time.
The interior of the restaurant is clean and bright and comfortable.
For our drinks, we had a passion fruit bubble tea (百里香果龙珠奶茶) priced at RM3.90. It was not too sweet and slightly sour, just right to our liking.
Similarly, their apple bubble tea (苹果园龙珠奶茶) was as good as the passion fruit bubble tea. A good start for the dinner.
We had their caviar siew mai (鱼子烧卖王) for RM4.50. The siew mai tasted quite delicious. The pork was juicy, delicious and flavourful. However, we were quite disappointed to find many other dim sums sold out at night. We didn’t get to try their pan fried carrot cake (腊味萝卜糕), lotus rice (腊味荷叶饭) and most importantly, Shanghai steamed pork dumpling (上海小龙包).
Fortunately, char siew bao (蜜味叉烧包) was still available. This is definitely something to try out in this restaurant. Priced at RM3.50, the Chinese pork bun was excellent, very flavourful but not too oily. The sesames that they added in the bun made it more aromatic and delicious. We enjoyed every bite of it.
I had a roast duck noodle (烧鸭面) as my main. The overall taste was quite good, only if they could add a little more sauce onto the duck and the noodles, it would taste better and also not too dry.
Ys had a combination of roast chicken rice (烧鸡饭). Priced at RM5, the chicken rice tasted quite decent. The portion served was reasonable, nothing much to shout about.
We would definitely go back for more dim sum for our next visit. Perhaps it would be safer to visit in the afternoon if you want to try their recommended dishes. Service was good and speedy and prices were reasonable. Overall, a good place to drop by for dim sum and other Chinese food.
