Harbour Steamboat Restaurant (海港火锅)

Posted by: Wen Ching In: Chinese Food

Craving for steamboat all of a sudden, so we head to this place since ys hasn’t been there before. I’ve been to this restaurant for a few times but it was some time ago. This restaurant is situated on the same row as the Ipoh Chicken Rice Shop Seri Petaling outlet. Quite easy to be noticed.

The exterior of the restaurant.

The interior of the restaurant. It somehow looks messier than before. Only then I noticed that they allowed customers to draw on their wall with permanent marker. It was a little unexpected.

Anyway, we ordered a combination of tomyam and herbal soup base. A combination of spicy and clear soup.

Lamb slices.

We ordered enoki mushrooms, Chinese leaf, bean curd, yi min (伊面) and their self-made fish ball. Not shown in the photo, we also ordered chicken and huang di mian(皇帝面). The soup was ok to us, but there’s nothing too attractive about it. The same goes for all their ingredients. Not too good, not too bad, just ordinary.

There was nothing too much about the food of this restaurant. To us, the best thing is that we get to draw on their wall. Ys brought along a green marker pen by luck and we drew on their wall. Notice the green colour writings above the pig?? We’re promoting Sugar Bean! :)

The total bill was RM46.20. One thing we have to inform you about this restaurant is that they place a gas cylinder underneath the table for cooking the steamboat. We’re not too sure if you can see that from the second photo, we didn’t manage to capture a good photo of it. Anyway, it felt a little unsafe. Hope that they can improve on this!

I ate here with a group of ex-colleagues and ex-bosses before… half of them fell sick the next day cos they drank too much of the herbal soup. To heaty. I quite like the place actually.

yeap :) definitely a good idea for dinner. The everyday raining season is chilling esp in the evening 😛
Drawing on walls? seemed like a creative idea but find it kinda messy too…

Ai Wei, haha, yeah, the best thing is that we get to draw on their wall!

Yammylicious, nope, we haven’t been to sushi station but we’ve heard of their concept. Gonna visit them when we have the chance!

Ling239, yeah, we totally agree with you!

Teckiee, oops, your ex-collegues should be more careful next time! :)

Christine, it is a creative idea to allow customers to draw on the walls but we somehow felt that this concept is not so suitable for their restaurant.

New Kid on the Blog, yeah, this place is fine for steamboat.

love this sugar bean bean blog – very informative.

i wanted to add that the owner at Harbout Steamboat made the eating experience very scary. you were all very lucky but when he was there he was bullying my lady friends because he was drunk. it was very unpleasant.

have you tried the steam boat in kampung ara?? the one beside a restaurant called pantai seafood?
