Wow, can’t believe our post on Xenri Japanese Restaurant made it to The Sunday Star Metro which you could view our post here! Thanks to Simon who informed us about this news. Anyway, sorry for the delay of post and here it is. I’ve once been to Little Taiwan in the Subang Jaya outlet quite some time ago when it was newly opened. Couldn’t recall how it was like and we decided to make another visit to this restaurant in Mid Valley.
Located near the Mid Valley cinema, this bright and tiny little restaurant is always packed with customers most of the time when we pass by.
The best thing that we remembered from our trip to Taiwan is the variety of drinks that they offer. We missed that a lot and we were happy to find some of the drinks listed in their menu. On the left is our fresh strawberry milk (鲜草莓牛奶) for RM6.90 and next to it is the red pearl milk tea (珍珠红奶茶) for RM5.90. The fresh strawberry milk was good, the fruit milk drink tasted fresh and natural. The same goes to the pearl milk tea too, the pearl was nice and chewy while the drink was refreshing. In Taiwan, they offer hot pearl milk tea, we love it a lot, didn’t know that pearl milk tea would taste good warm too!
Here’s our Tang Tang noodles (担担面). It was one of their recommended soup noodles. Priced at RM8.90, we find this quite good as the clear soup was flavourful and the pork balls were firm and chewy.
Next, we had a spicy hot ramen (麻辣拉面) which is also one of their recommended dishes. Priced at RM8.90, the ma la soup tasted quite nice and spicy. It was served with fish cakes which we do not really like, we would prefer them to serve meat or vegetables instead. But nevertheless, the spicy hot ramen still taste good overall.
As you all know, snacks are very popular in Taiwan and they have some of them in Little Taiwan, namely Taiwan special toast (台南藏宝箱), special almond meat ball (杏仁花珠) and a lot more. We were really full when we finished our noodles. So we’ll keep that for our next visit!
