We’re sure that most of you would’ve visited or heard about this restaurant. The first and main restaurant is located in Jalan Gasing, where business is flourishing all year long. We used to visit there for its chicken rice until this branch is opened in Sri Petaling, making it more convenient to visit this restaurant as it is nearer to where I live.
This restaurant is situated on the same row as Sweet Bean and Harbour Steamboat Restaurant.
The restaurant can be quite warm in the afternoon but it is bearable. It is usually quite clean and tidy. They have an open kitchen concept which allows customers to have a good view on the preparation of food.
It only took them a few minutes to serve our food, they were really speedy. Anyway, let’s get started with the food, we had this kampung chicken (招牌菜园鸡), literally translated as village chicken for RM10 for 2 persons. This would be something that you can’t miss out in this restaurant. The chicken was tender and smooth.
The chicken tasted really good when eaten with their chilli or ginger sauce. The rice was very fragrant too, everything went so well together.
Of course, a plate of bean sprouts (招牌怡保芽菜) is also a must for this meal. Priced at RM1 for 1 person, we always enjoy this light and crunchy bean sprouts as it would be unhealthy to have a meal without vegetables.
Next, we ordered a Thai style chicken feet (泰式玻璃鸡脚) since we haven’t had it for quite some time. This was priced at RM3 for 1 person. We enjoyed this as much as we did as the kampung chicken. The chicken feet skin was really chewy and it tasted rather sourish and spicy. It was really appetising!
Of course, not missing out their infamous pork ball (特色吊片猪肉丸) priced at RM1.20 for 2 pork balls. It tasted rather porky, depends on individual, some would like it but some would not. The soup was quite flavourful. For our drinks, we had a lime and sour plum drink (酸梅桔) for RM2 and a barley drink (薏米) for RM1.30.
Overall it was a very satisfying meal. Would revisit this restaurant again. There’re other dishes to order too, fried lala (特式炒啦啦), fried curry prawn (干咖喱虾), roast pork (烧肉) and etc. Do check this restaurant out if you haven’t!
