On a bright and cheerful Saturday afternoon, we ventured into the Petaling Jaya area for some food exploration. Famous Seremban Favourites have been on our food list for quite a long time and we finally decided to visit them for the first time.
Located in the Sunway Mas Commercial Centre, the area was completely alien to us, however, it was quite easy to find with Vkeong’s GPS coordinates.
We were not surprised to find the place being crowded with a number of patrons when we arrived during lunchtime. Yet service was fast and we were seated very soon.
The most popular item in this restaurant is their Char Siew. Priced at RM14, we ordered a plate of the medium sized Char Siew. It was excellent, easily the best Char Siew we’ve had in town so far. We loved how the caramelised pork dissolved in our mouth when eaten, and how well the sweet complimentary sauce blends along with it. It was so flavourful and addictive, so good that you can eat it on its own. We will definitely return for more!
Next up, we had a dry wan tan mee to share. The small portion was priced at RM4.30 and we thought it tasted quite good. The Char Siew was the best part though, be it wan tan mee or plain white rice, it tasted amazing!
We also had their specialty which is their Hakka Mee. Also priced at RM4.30 for a small plate of Hakka noodles, the yellow, egg noodles were topped with generous minced pork and chopped spring onions. It could be rather bland to some, but it was simple and delicious to us, we particularly enjoyed the springy texture of the broad noodles and the naturally sweet minced meat.
No doubt this is one of the best Char Siews we’ ve had in our life so far, and we’re not exaggerating! Do check it out if you’re a pork lover, this place would definitely satisfy your cravings!
