Sungai Besi Wan Tan Mee was one of the best wantan mee places around which I’ve known for a long time. After returning from KL city centre one day and passing Sungai Besi Highway, we decided to have wantan mee as our midnight snack!

The food place was located on Jalan Sungai Besi past the BHPetrol Station. During the day, a car mechanic shop occupies the shop lot. The wantan mee stall only opens around 6.30pm in the evening and closes around 3am. It was rather convenient for night shift workers or people who finished work late coming back from KL, or simply just for people like us who craved for some good supper!

There were a number of toppings for the wantan mee to choose from. Their varieties include char siew, wantan, ginger duck, Hakka stewed pork, pork knuckles, wild boar curry, mushroom chicken feet etc.

Service was fast and prompt. Shortly after placing our order, we were served with our curry wild boar wantan mee (咖喱山猪肉) priced at RM5 for the smallest size. The noodles were served with curried wild boar, vegetables and also a bowl of soup. The wantan mee was delicious, very rich, springy and full of flavour. Coupled with the tender and moist curry wild boar, it was definitely one of the best wantan mee we’ve had in KL. We highly recommend anyone in KL to try this place out!
Other than the pickled green chilli, Sungai Besi Wan Tan Mee also serves dried shrimp sambal as a condiment for the noodles. Previously I also tried their shui kow (dumplings) which I thought was quite good as well. We would definitely return for more next time!
