We were shopping in Times Square before going to Stadium Merdeka for Eason Chan’s concert. We actually got free tickets for the concert! Anyway, before the concert starts, it’s better to have dinner so that we wouldn’t starve ourselves later. While wondering around, we passed by Uncle Duck Restaurant, a place that we wanted to visit for a long time.
Not thinking too much, we entered the restaurant and placed our order. It took us quite some time to figure out what to eat since they offered so many types of food.
Besides serving various types of Chinese food, they also sell crystal lights. There’re different lights hanging on the ceiling of the restaurant.
The chocolate milk tea (巧克力珍珠奶茶) was a very disappointing drink, the chocolate tasted so bland. For RM4.50, we would’ve got some other better drinks.
We decided to go for steamboat instead of their well-known duck rice. We ordered a sliced pork set (猪肉片套餐) for RM18.90. Since we had our lunch quite late, we decided to have a light dinner at this time. The presentation of the food looks very good, the ingredients served look very fresh and delicious.
We also ordered a plate of scallops (带子) for RM4.
The sliced mutton (羊肉片) costs RM6 per 80g. The bamboo fungus (竹笙) was RM3 for 40g.
We chose to have this super spicy soup (地狱啦啦汤底) as most of you already knew that we love spicy food. For this soup, we have to pay additional RM2.
We dipped the food in the brownish coloured special sauce prepared by them. The sauce tasted fantastic, it was slightly sourish and boosted our appetite. The sesames in the sauce enhanced the fragrant of the sauce. The pork and the prawn were the best among all. The thinly sliced pork tasted really great when cooked in spicy sauce and dipped in the sourish sauce. The scallops were quite good too but unfortunately they were a little small. The mutton were our least favourable dish. The mutton tasted quite strong even if cooked with the super spicy soup. But fortunately, overall the steamboat tasted good because the soup was good, very spicy but sweet and flavourful at the same time.
Overall it was quite an enjoyable experience dining in Uncle Duck. We might return for their duck next time!
