We were late for dinner again, since Wong Kok Char Chan Teng opens til late night, we decided to go there for dinner.
This restaurant is situated on the second floor of Citrus Park, located next to Halo Café (海螺民歌餐厅).
We arrived at the restaurant at about 11pm on a weekday, it was hard to believe that there were so many customers, most of them are celebrating their birthday since Wong Kok is offering a giant jar of ice milk tea (香岛奶茶) for free for customers celebrating their birthday in the restaurant. The conditions that they imposed were to have a minimum 6 people, a minimum bill of RM30 and a proof of birthday with identity card.
We had fried Nissin noodle with sliced pork in Szechuan style (回锅肉炒一丁) for RM8.90. I don’t know why but this has been one of my favourite dishes in this restaurant since some time ago. This large serving of noodles tasted slightly spicy and salty, we enjoyed it!
Ys ordered a soup noodle with vegetable fish ball served in wooden bowl (南乳菜丸木盆面) for RM10.90. It was our first time trying out this dish, it tasted slightly sweet with a taste of fermented bean curd (腐乳). Quite average to us.
Not satisfied yet, we went on to order this mini chocolate fondue (巧克力火锅). Priced at RM9.80, they served apples, bananas and bread for this fondue. The fruits and bread tasted quite good when dipped in the chocolate, probably because we just love chocolate in any ways. However, towards the end when the chocolate is almost finished, the fire continued to warm the chocolate causing it to be burnt. Perhaps we should eat faster next time.
Revisit for this restaurant will be definite as they serve quite a large variety of food. You can check it out from their website here. Their service was quite fast and speedy. But bear in mind that it would be quite noisy if there’re many people celebrating their birthdays!
