Yum Yum’s Chinese Restaurant

Posted by: Wen Ching In: Chinese Food

It’s been quite some time since we last visit Genting Highlands, used to be here more often when I was a child. Anyway, after a thrilling experience at the haunted house and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’s museum, we were craving for something hot to warm and calm ourselves down.

After walking around, we decided to have Mmm Yum Yum’s Bak Kut Teh (香喷喷肉骨茶). Without second thoughts, we went straight in since we were desperate for food.

This place was well decorated for Chinese New Year, it was quite clean and pleasant. The roller coaster ride can be seen on the top right corner of the photo, it can be a little noisy eating here.

We had 2 sugar cane drink which costs RM5 each, it was really expensive but the taste was quite good.

They offered different choices of bak kut teh such as claypot, ginseng or abalone bak kut teh. We decided to go for the ordinary claypot bak kut teh (瓦煲肉骨茶). Anyway, bak kut teh is literally translated as pork rib tea. This serving for 2 costs RM32.80 and the rice costs RM2 each. The ingredients served were quite little and the soup tasted rather average, lacking the taste of herbs and spices. But yet, since it was cold in the evening, it really warmed our body, this bak kut teh somehow tasted fantastic to us at that time.

Service was quite average. Visit this restaurant unless you’re seriously craving for bak kut teh and something hot.

That’s definitely pricey. But short of taking a picnic basket up there, I guess one just has to fork out the money or starve. hehe.

Christy, yeah, everything is pricey up there! But no choice, we still have to eat! :)

Ai Wei, haha, better not or else I’ll ruin your blog! Yeah, it’s true that even fast food is expensive there!

Christine, yeah, we get what you mean about Genting food! But we were really craving for bak kut teh at that time, so we gave it a shot!

Neko hime, haha, seems like everyone says so. We think so too!

Lyrical Lemongrass, yeah, you’re right. And since we were at the theme park, we had no choice but to dine there!

Nic (khkl), hey, we totally agree with you! When we’re on holiday, it’s easy to overspend, but still, we felt that it’s worth it! Is the buffet good? Might try it out next time!

Joe, haha, cooking seems quite difficult up there! No choice, we still have to dine there! Yeah, eating bak kut teh at that time was really heaven!

Big Boys Oven, yeah, to avoid overspending in Genting, we really should do that!

Ekeng, that’s a good point! Though we’ve never bought food in the casino before, we noticed that the food was quite cheap there, and they’re serving free drinks too! Yeah, we should get some cheap food from there next time. :)
