Even though I spent more than half of my life in Kuchai Lama, it wasn’t until recently when I tried Yummy Duck out.
The restaurant has been in business since 2009. It was located in Jalan Kuchai Maju, a busy street where parking can be difficult to find. The restaurant was nice and comfortable, fully air-conditioned as well.
Since there were two of us that day, we ordered a platter of roast dish consisting of roast duck (烧鸭), roast pork belly (烧腩) and char siew (叉烧) to share. I thought all three types of roast meat were very good. The roast duck was the best among all, the skin was crispy while the meat remained tender but firm and juicy. The roast pork was fragrant and succulent as well. I enjoyed the dish a lot.
We also ordered a Fresh Prawn and Meat Wanton Soup (鲜虾肉碎云吞汤). Priced at RM8, the wanton soup was good as a contrast to the roast meat.
I had a plate of Hong Kong Plain Noodles (香港全蛋净面) for RM3. I enjoyed the noodles a lot, which was fine, springy and complemented well with the roast dish.
Although I’ve only been there only once, I wouldn’t mind going back again whenever I crave for roast meat!
