After a filling lunch at Hoe Kee’s, we decided to stroll around Jalan Hang Jebat. There are various shops selling clothes, souvenirs, antiques and food. Finally, we arrived at this place to have our dessert. We did not manage to get their exact address. Anyway, this shop is situated on the same street as Hoe Kee and it is about 5 minutes walking distance from Hoe Kee.
This is our nyonya cendol. We were not too sure how renowned this shop is, but their cendol is definitely good, especially with lots and lots of Gula Melaka (Malacca sugar)! I somehow find it hard to believe how much Gula Melaka I’ve added, I think I’m addicted to it. Anyway, RM2.00 for a bowl of cendol, we thought that it was really worth it.
Here’s our ice kacang, known as red bean ice in English. This too, was really delicious and refreshing, best taken during hot and sunny day. It was RM2.50 per serving.
Just like other ice kacang, they’ve added sweetcorn, cendol, red bean, jelly and pineapple. And of course, it was topped with coloured syrup and Gula Melaka. Local desserts are absolutely delicious at all times.
There are a few other shops selling cendol in the same street. We did not have enough time to try them out. Remember to drop by for a cool and revitalising cendol when travelling in Malacca!
