This café is really appealing to us since we love green tea in any way. So when we were at The Gardens thinking of where to celebrate Ai Wei‘s belated birthday, we decided to give this place a try.
OChaCha is situated on the Third Floor of The Gardens and it is near to Isetan entrance.
We like their interior, simple, modern and comfortable. Their concept was somewhat similar to Starbucks or Coffee Bean, the difference is that they’re using green tea as their main theme.
We had a parched size OChaCha Freezie for RM12.80, in which the creamy matcha was blended with ice. It tasted rather sweet compared to the other hot drinks. Though it was sweet, the green tea tasted really creamy and icy, it was quite good overall.
Next, we had a thirstier (large) size OChaCha Latte for RM11.50. This is their signature premium matcha in steamed milk. We prefer this hot drink than the cold one, it was not too sweet and the green tea somehow tasted stronger. Also, it was really smooth added with milk. Since all hot drinks look the same, we decided to post only 1 photo. We also tried the OChaCha Silk which was a combination of matcha with soy milk. We enjoyed this as much as we enjoyed the OChaCha latte, this tasted rather smooth too! Seems like our friends enjoyed their drinks too! There’re other drinks with interesting combination of green tea with almond, butterscotch and white chocolate. We’ll save that for our next visit!
We also ordered their signature Azuki Matcha cake for RM9. This azuki red bean was imported from Japan. The texture of the green tea cake was rather light and soft. It went well with the layers of azuki red beans but overall it was slightly too sweet for us.
This is their Strawberry Matcha Cake for RM8. This tasted better than we expect. The strawberry which was slightly sour brought up the overall taste of the cake. Do check this cake out, it was an interesting combination that went so well together!
Service was rather good and speedy. There is another outlet in Pavilion shopping mall. The price is quite high but the quality of the food and drinks are guaranteed. Do check this place out if you’re a big fan of green tea!
