After buying our movie tickets, we spotted Carl’s Jr. which is recently opened in Mid Valley. It is next to McDonald’s and located near Mid Valley cinema ticket counter.
Anyway, the restaurant looks bright and cheerful, just as other fast food restaurants would look like.
The seats were rather special though, they used oval shaped tables which we find interesting. However, we were quite disappointed to find their tables not properly cleaned.
This is where we can choose our own pickles or sauce and also get our drinks. They offered many soft drinks but we chose to have Carl’s Jr’s iced tea. It wasn’t added with sugar, so we added a little sweetener and lemon to make our own iced lemon tea. It tasted quite good and refreshing. Besides their iced tea, they also serve Channel Islands Roasting Company Coffee, it would be a good choice if you’re a coffee lover!
So here’s what we ordered. We had a charboiled chicken club combo which includes the charboiled chicken burger, a refillable drink and fries for RM21.95. We also had a Portobello mushroom burger. The fries tasted quite good, it was served warm, thicker and fried with real potatoes as you can see the brown colour skin of the potatoes. Also, we like the fact that they actually serve Heinz tomato ketchup.
This charboiled chicken burger was huge, the meat was so much larger than the bun. It was delicious, the chicken bacon was quite crispy and it tasted even better when added with gherkin pickles. And as their tagline said, “it’s gonna get messy”, we got really messy when eating this large burger.
We also had a Portobello mushroom burger. Since I don’t take beef, we requested them to change the beef to chicken. The price for the single Portobello sandwich is RM18, but the change of beef to chicken costs RM1. Isn’t chicken cheaper than beef? Anyway, this burger tasted fantastic, the mushrooms were really sweet and juicy, a wonderful combination with the chicken, we enjoyed this a lot!
Service was quite average. The serving of the burgers were really huge, but of course, the price is really expensive for fast food if compared to McDonald’s or Burger King. For more information, check out their official website here.
