It’s weird why one would visit our National Zoo nowadays, at least that’s what we think. After watching a Japanese drama mentioning about visiting the zoo, we actually had the sudden impulse to visit the zoo on the next day.
When we arrived there, we still couldn’t believe we’re there.
The entrance fee for entering the Zoo Negara is RM15 per adult. We bought our tickets, went into the zoo and hopped onto this cute little vehicle. The sight seeing tour was slightly shorter than we expect. This photo was captured when we left the zoo, it was raining when we left.
Anyway, the weather was good when we arrived. These are some of the photos that we’ve taken in the zoo. A beautiful bird and an elephant behind.
The giraffes look as though they’re travelling somewhere but they somehow look quite upset to us. The zoo used to be somewhere I would love to go when I was a child, but it seemed different now. Or should I say, it still looks the same without any improvements. Well, the zoo should’ve been better maintained, it would be a wonderful tourist spot.
Here’s the giant sized tortoise, it looks as though it’s using all its strength to move its heavy shell.
This cute little goat seemed to love the attention of us capturing its picture. It looks so innocent.
The dromedary camel is extinct in the wild. So we guess you can only see this in the zoo.
We knew that the largest living land mammal is the elephant, but we didn’t know that the second largest living land mammal would be the white rhinoceros. The interesting thing about them is that their edge of territory is marked with their dung piles.
This is a cute little nile hippopotamus resting in the water in the day. It comes up to land at night for food.
Well, enough of animals, this is a food blog. We shall begin our lunch. We actually thought of having our lunch in KFC but we were so outdated and later learned that KFC is not in our national zoo anymore. It was first replaced by Marrybrown and now it is The Wild.
Since The Wild was packed with kindergarten children, we had no choice but to dine in the Wall’s Café next door. Since we were hungry, we decided to go in and give it a try.
The café was clean but it was a little warm and it could be a little stinky.
The strawberry smoothies was quite pricey at RM8.80. But it tasted really good, it was blended with Wall’s strawberry ice-cream and topped with another scoop of strawberry ice-cream. It was rich in flavour, very worth giving it a try.
The smell was a little unbearable so we took something light wanting to get out of here as soon as possible. Anyway, this is the cheese and egg sandwich that we ordered. It wasn’t very good as the bread was a little hard and dry. RM8.50 for this sandwich is way too expensive.
Our hot dog with fries was expensive too at RM9.95. The fries were served hot and it was good. But have you ever seen hot dog topped with fried onions? The combination was rather weird but acceptable. We would rate the hot dog average overall.
Food was expensive there. It rained heavily in the late afternoon, we have no choice but to leave the zoo. One thing would be for sure, we wouldn’t be returning to the zoo until they move or renovate the zoo. Even the animals look a little dispirit. For more information, visit their website here.
