Happy New Year 2008! Wish you all have a wonderful year ahead. This is a really backdated post. We went to Colmar Tropicale, Bukit Tinggi for a 1 day trip few months ago but yet we haven’t posted on this trip yet. It was quite some time since we last went there and decided to visit this place for a break.
This is the French theme resort. It was raining when we were there. But the weather wasn’t as cold as we expected. The view was quite pretty from where we stood, the clock tower. The little village was rather quiet when we were there.
Besides the French theme resort, we also went to the Japanese village for a walk. The botanical garden was quite interesting with different tress and plantation, a fine place for photo taking. For those who’re interested in agriculture and plantations, the botanical garden would be a nice place for a stroll. There were strawberries plantation too, but sadly they were all plucked. There was a Japanese restaurant called Ryo Zan Tei there too, but we chose not to dine there because it was a little empty and the food was quite expensive.
We settled down and placed our orders. To start off with our dinner, we ordered a deep fried calamari for RM14. It took them quite some time to serve us but it was quite worth it. The warm and crispy calamari tasted delicious when dipped with mayonnaise. It was not too oily too, we enjoyed it very much.
Next up, we had a small calzone. It was a little pricey at RM28 for a serving this small. But yet, this pizza, filled with turkey ham, pesto, blue cheese, cream cheese and mozzarella cheese tasted quite good as the outer layer of the calzone was quite crispy and the combination of cheese were really chewy and cheesy.
It was a pleasant Italian restaurant. We would definitely revisit this place again. But bear in mind that the price restaurants in Bukit Tinggi might be a little expensive. Anyhow, it still felt relaxing to leave KL once in a while for just a short time off.
