This is our second time visiting this restaurant, those who frequent Singapore would know this restaurant for sure. Our first visit was quite ok, so we decided to visit this place again.
The restaurant is bright and comfortable.
Instead of serving the usual green tea, they serve houjicha (ほうじ茶). Priced at RM1, this Japanese roasted green tea tasted more aromatic compared to the normal green tea. Most seats are next to the kaiten belt so it would be easier for customers to choose their preferred sushi.
Started our lunch with a salmon cheese nigiri sushi and a kappa maki. Priced at RM4, the salmon cheese which was topped with chilli tomato sauce and spring onion, the chef melted the cheese with the kitchen torch. It tasted quite average to us, the salmon was quite fresh but we couldn’t taste the chilli tomato sauce and the cheese tasted quite light. Priced at RM2, the kappa maki (かっぱ巻き) tasted quite good as a simple cucumber roll just won’t go wrong.
This tobiko sushi was quite delicious too, a generous filling of flying fish roe was given. This is also priced at RM4.
Since they’re heavily recommending on their daily fresh handmade soba, we decided to give it a try. We wanted something cold and simple so we went for seiro (せりろ). Priced at RM10.90, this cold buckwheat noodles was served with spring onion and dipping sauce. A generous portion of soba was served and it tasted rather good and chewy, but it would be better if they serve this with seaweed (海苔) and quail egg.
Finally, we ordered this pirikara udon (ピリ辛うどん) that we previously had in our last visit. For RM13.90, this claypot soup udon was served with fried chicken, bean curd, vegetables and egg in spicy broth. The soup was quite spicy and flavourful, we enjoyed it very much. For those who like it even spicier, try adding some shichimi powder (七味), it would be even spicier!
Overall, we had a pleasant meal, the price was quite reasonable compared to other Japanese restaurant. Service was average. Check out their Singapore website here. No harm checking this place out!
