A post dated back to April 2008. After an exhausting day in the Zoo Negara, we decided to head to Subang Jaya to look for some good Japanese food.
We drove around that area and spotted this restaurant which is located across Subang Jaya Medical Centre. We found a parking and went inside after taking a look at their menu.

This is the upper floor of the restaurant, it was empty when we went there. But when we left, it was packed with customers.

They were having a promotion that day. Customers could get 50% discount upon ordering salmon sashimi (サーモン刺身) or tempura moriawase (天ぷら盛り合わせ). We had salmon sashimi for RM15 after discount. The presentation was neat and pretty and the sashimi was fresh and delectable. The salmon slices were quite thick and we enjoyed every bite of it.
For our mains, we had a kimuchi nabe (キムチ鍋) for RM30. This kimchi based soup steamboat serves two. The ingredients look rather fresh but the amount served was quite moderate.
First, the waitress placed the vegetables into the boiling soup. Then she put the meat and the rest of the ingredients into the soup. She told us that this step was insisted by her Japanese boss, which we later learn that he is also the owner of Yuzu Japanese Restaurant in The Gardens.

Finally, the food was ready and the waitress served them into two small bowls. The prawns and squids were large and fresh, they were really delicious. Compared to the spicy and sour Korean kimchi soup, the Japanese version tasted rather sweet and mild. It was quite different but we enjoy it, it was very flavourful and we enjoy the sweetness of it.
This would be a nice place to enjoy a drink after work as they offer a variety of Japanese liquors. But if you’re a non-smoker, bear in mind that it might be a little stuffy when others started to smoke because the restaurant was quite small. Nevertheless, the food was good and they also offer bento sets priced at about RM30. No harm to give it a try!
