Wanted to have a light lunch at The Gardens the other day. We went to the lower ground floor as there are many restaurants located there. As we passed by Sushi Zen, we decided to give it a try.
There weren’t many people during the weekdays. That was so much more comfortable for us as we don’t have to sit close to the others.
For our drinks, we ordered 2 hot green tea (緑茶) at the price of RM1.50 each. Then, we ordered this prawn tempura roll (エビ天エビッコ巻) for RM4.90. The portion served was rather small considering the price of it. The tempura wasn’t crispy when served, it tasted average overall.
For our main course, we went for the hokkai chirashi don (北海ちらし丼) for RM15.90. A reasonable portion of raw salmon (鮭), salmon roe (いくら), scallop (帆立) were served. Although they were not of the best quality of sashimi, the combination of all these seafood tasted well with the vinegared rice.
Overall, we had a pleasant lunch. Service was quite average though. The price for the food was reasonable and the quality of the food was satisfactory. Perhaps we would try out their noodles next time.
