Sushi Zen (寿司善)

Posted by: Wen Ching In: Japanese Food

Wanted to have a light lunch at The Gardens the other day. We went to the lower ground floor as there are many restaurants located there. As we passed by Sushi Zen, we decided to give it a try.

There weren’t many people during the weekdays. That was so much more comfortable for us as we don’t have to sit close to the others.

For our drinks, we ordered 2 hot green tea (緑茶) at the price of RM1.50 each. Then, we ordered this prawn tempura roll (エビ天エビッコ巻) for RM4.90. The portion served was rather small considering the price of it. The tempura wasn’t crispy when served, it tasted average overall.

For our main course, we went for the hokkai chirashi don (北海ちらし丼) for RM15.90. A reasonable portion of raw salmon (鮭), salmon roe (いくら), scallop (帆立) were served. Although they were not of the best quality of sashimi, the combination of all these seafood tasted well with the vinegared rice.

Overall, we had a pleasant lunch. Service was quite average though. The price for the food was reasonable and the quality of the food was satisfactory. Perhaps we would try out their noodles next time.

Now a days, it’s quite difficult to find a place for cheap and reasonable Japanese food. It’s a good try!

Big Boys Oven, yup, nice place for casual eating but this place would be better if there are less customers.

Ekeng, yup, the price is quite reasonable, worth to try it out.

Kent, yeah, it is delicious. You can try it out when you have the chance. Will visit your blog!

Ai Wei, yup, agree with you. But we’ll return only if the place is rather empty. Haha!

Celine, yeah, we agree with you. Try it out when you have the chance!

Nic (khkl), thanks! Yeah, the queues are really long sometimes. But sometimes when we pass by Sushi Zen, the queue is quite long too.

Ling239, yeah, the hokkai chirashi don seems to be everyone’s favourite!

Joe, yup, totally agree with you!

Christine, awaiting to read you post! :)

Yammylicious, yeah, the price is affordable here. Worth to check it out!

Christy, just go ahead to have some Japanese food! There’re lots of different places to try out lately! :)
