The Saujana Kuala Lumpur Kogetsu (湖月)
Posted by: Wen Ching In: Japanese Food
Sorry for the lack of updates lately, here’s a very backdated post. For a family dinner, we decided to visit places that we’ve never been to before. After asking around about different Japanese restaurants, we decided to visit this place for dinner.
Here’s our tuna sashimi (大トロ刺身), tuna belly, that we craved for. Priced at RM200, we lost our words when eating this sashimi. It was so fresh and delicious. So superb that we don’t know how to describe it, just have to try it out yourself!
We ordered two simmered dish, the first being kisetsu no yasai (季節の野菜), seasonal vegetables at RM15. The vegetables tasted quite sweet and delicious but the portion was rather small and it was very expensive.
Our second simmered dish – Takenoko nimono (竹の子煮物), bamboo shoots topped with bonito flakes at RM18. Though it might not look attractive, it tasted really good. The bamboo tasted really sweet naturally. Anyone who enjoys eating bamboo shoots would definitely love this.
The yamakake udon (山かけうどん) was served with fish cake and vegetables. This Japanese yam noodle is priced at RM24. Perhaps they used only a small portion of Japanese yam, we couldn’t really taste anything special from it.
Finally, our dessert! A meal would be incomplete without it. We were spoilt with choices for desserts. But we were so full at that time, we can only manage something light. Here’s our single scoop of peach ice-cream (桃アイス). The peach taste was quite light, but it was quite fragrant.
This Japanese restaurant is fine in terms of their service and environment. But for their food, we still prefer Tykoh Inagiku. Besides, Kogetsu’s presentation of food is not as good compared to other Japanese restaurant and it was really pricey. Yet, for Japanese food lovers or for a romantic dinner for two, there’s no harm trying it out!
