The Christmas decorations at Centre Court, Mid Valley. We find it quite impressive, with beautiful lightings, but somehow we prefer the decorations in 1 Utama.
We moved on to The Gardens, where Christmas decorations were kept simple and nice.
Though simple, we actually like it very much compared to complex designs.
Anyway, feeling hungry, we made our way up to the third floor for Yuzu Japanese Restaurant. We’ve heard of this restaurant since its opening and finally here’s our chance to try it out ourselves.
The entrance of the restaurant. These photos were taken when we left the restaurant at 10pm, that is why the restaurant looks empty.
The interior of the restaurant, looking quite modern and classy.
This was taken from where we sat.
Since they’re newly opened, they’re offering 25% discount for sashimi and hot pot. The waitress also recommended their fugu course meal which costs RM150 for 2 persons. Out of budget for food at this price, we decided to have this hokkai nabe (北海鍋) for a serving for 2 which was originally priced at RM68, it was RM55 after discount. It was quite a good deal, with 2 large prawns, 2 scallops and a large serving of salmon and vegetables. It was really kind of the waitress to allow us to take some photos before she cooked the food.
This hot pot was served on an electric cooker. We waited patiently as the waitress took care of the cooking.
The prawns and scallops were large and fresh, it was really delicious. The salmon too, was good, nothing to complain about. All other vegetables like bean curd and mushrooms were really good too. The soup, however, tasted slightly different from the normal miso soup, it tasted slightly spicy, perhaps a little chili flakes were added. Also, citrus fruits were added in the soup. Instead of consisting only ponzu sauce (ポン酢), the dipping sauce were added with chili and garlic which somehow localised the taste of the dipping sauce.
Not missing out any chance for dessert, we ordered anmitsu (餡蜜). Priced at RM12, this dessert was served in a cute little bowl which resembles a bamboo shoot. Mangos, jelly and red bean was topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. Though all ingredients are our favourite food, we didn’t really enjoy the combination of it, perhaps green tea ice-cream would better suit the vanilla ice-cream.
A pleasant restaurant to visit overall. Their service was quite good as their waitresses were quite friendly and polite. No harm to give it a try!
