Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights (고항)

Posted by: Wen Ching In: Korean Food

We were thrilled when we received an invitation for a food review on Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights. We have been to their outlet in The Gardens and it was always a satisfying dining experience.

Interior, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
This time around, the food review took place at the One Mont Kiara outlet, a relatively new mall.

Side dishes, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
We started out with some side dishes (반찬). Their kimchi was nice and appetising while the sweet anchovies provided a nice bite to start the meal. The complimentary side dishes were refillable.

Miyeok Guk, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
We were each served with a bowl of Miyeok Guk (미역국). The highly nutritious soup contains of sea vegetables and they were naturally sweet and nice when eaten.

O Jing Eu Bokem, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
Other than our mains for dinner, we were served with a number of delicious dishes to share. Pictured above was the O Jing Eu Bokem (오징어볶음). Priced at RM17.90, stir fried squid with home made chilli sauce was served with rice. The squid was definitely delicious, soft and chewy but not too tough to be eaten. The chilli sauce provided a mildly spicy yet fragrant taste to the dish. We would definitely order this dish in our future visit!

Pa Jeon, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
Priced at RM11.50, the Pa Jeon (파전) was an enjoyable dish to share. The seafood pancake with spring onion was simple and tasty when dipped with their specialty sauce.

Kimchi Jeon, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
As kimchi lovers, we personally prefer the Kimchi Jeon (김치전) over the Pa Jeon. Also priced at RM11.50, this kimchi pancake consisted of lots of kimchi and it had a slightly spicy and sour flavour which we loved a lot. Kimchi lovers would definitely enjoy this snack!

Goon Man Du, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
We also had a chance to sample their Goon Man Du (군만두). Priced at RM9.50, this dish consisted of six pieces of pan fried homemade chicken dumplings. We loved the dumplings as well, the outside was crispy while the filling remained juicy and delicious.

Ra Myeon, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
For our mains, we opted for the Ra Myeon (라면). Priced at RM13.50, the spicy noodle soup with vegetables was served with a choice of seafood, chicken or beef. We had the seafood ra myeon and we thought it was quite good. The soup was flavourful but we thought it could be made spicier.

Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
The Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap (돌솥 비빔밥) was our favourite dish of the day. Priced at RM17.90, the stone pot rice was neatly topped with vegetables, chilli paste, egg, seaweed and chicken.

Mix them up evenly and the bibimbap is ready to eat! We particularly enjoyed biting into the crunchy vegetables which provided a contrast with the moist and flavourful rice. A healthy yet delicious dish that is not to be missed when dining in this restaurant!

Jab Chae, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
Here are some food photos which other fellow bloggers had during the food review. Pictured above was the Jab Chae (잡채) priced at RM15.90. The stir fried glass noodle with vegetables can be cooked with either a choice of chicken or beef.

Bi Bim Bap, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
Priced at RM16.90, the Bi Bim Bap (비빔밥) topped with vegetables, chilli paste, egg, seaweed and chicken looked visually appetising.

Dak Bokem, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
The Dak Bokem (닭볶음) would be a dish that we would order in our future visit! Priced at RM17.90, stir fried chicken was cooked with homemade chilli sauce and served with rice.

Overall, we loved the food in Ko Hyang and would definitely return for more Korean delights. Special thanks to the owner of Ko Hyang for hosting a wonderful dinner and also Angeline for planning and inviting us for the review.
