Delima Seafood Restaurant, Tioman Island
Posted by: Wen Ching In: Malaysian Food|Tioman Island
This restaurant is located outside Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort, and right across Restoran Citra Anugerah. As it is very near to the resort and its operating time is from 7am to 1am, it is very convenient for us to have our meal here. This is a combined post of all lunches and dinner that we had in this restaurant.
The restaurant did not look very fancy but it felt relaxing dining in this place.
Not only do tourists dine in here, we also noticed a number of locals eating in this restaurant.
Anyway, we’ll begin with the lunches that we had here. The best drink for us is always fruit juice as we were really thirsty after bicycle rides or other sports. The one on the left is our all time favourite watermelon juice and the one on the right is a carrot juice. They cost RM3 each.
This is their paprik fried rice for RM6.50. It tasted better than we actually expect, the rice is really fragrant and the paprik chicken tasted really good. It was really appetising and not too sweet.
We also had their tomyam mee hoon for RM6. It was quite good and they served a generous amount of seafood and other ingredients like prawns, squids, chicken, cauliflower etc. It was spicy and sour, just exactly what we’re looking for.
This is our all time favourite pattaya fried rice. Priced at RM6.50, this fried rice looks ordinary but it tasted very good, with lots of wok hei and the rice being very aromatic. Quite a good choice for those who like pattaya fried rice.
Not knowing what lakna fried rice is, we decided to give it a try. For RM6.50, this fried rice which looks just like a normal fried rice tasted extra spicy with every bite of it containing chili padi (bird’s eye chili). The fried rice was good with lots of wok hei but it was too spicy for me and I have to exchange this with Yee Siong’s pattaya fried rice. For those who really love spicy food, this could be something for you!
Before leaving Tioman the next day, we had our dinner here as we returned our rented bicycles and we came to this place because it is very near to the resort. The drink on the left which is the bandung syrup costs RM2 while the lychee drink on the right costs RM4.50. The bandung syrup tasted a little too sweet while the lychee drink was a little disappointing as the drink lacked the lychee taste.
As recommended by the owner of this restaurant, we decided to try their ikan tiga rasa for RM30 since we haven’t tried this before and it sounded interesting to us. This three flavoured siakap fish (sea bass) tasted sweet, sour and spicy. The fish was fried before cooking with this sauce and it was more to the spicy side as you can see the chili padi covering the fish. The fish was really fresh and it was delicious, no regrets ordering it!
Then we had this paprik squid for RM6 since we enjoyed their paprik fried rice a lot. It impressed us again as the sauce were really nice and sweet and the squid was soft and fresh.
Finally, we had a tomyam seafood soup for RM8. It was somehow spicier than the tomyam mee hoon that we had but still, it was good. The prawns and squid were really fresh, that was what we enjoyed the most in this place.
We really enjoy dining in this restaurant, maybe because it was cheaper compared to other restaurants. Food in this island is rather expensive, perhaps Tioman is a tourist spot. But still, for the fresh seafood that we get, we guess it was worth it after all. Do check this restaurant out if you visit Tioman Island, the owner of the restaurant is really friendly and the food was good!
