On the second day on the island, we took a taxi to the town to rent a bicycle. The taxi driver charged us RM20 for a journey less than 3km, it was extremely expensive! Anyway, we rented bicycles and rode it all day long to explore the island.
We asked the locals where would be a place for good food, a lady directed us to this restaurant. But also told us that the food served in the restaurants in Tioman Island are very similar. Anyway, this restaurant is located beside Kampung Tekek Police Station, it wouldn’t be very hard to look for.
The restaurant looked a little old but it was quite comfortable, perhaps the air was cool and there wasn’t much pollution in that island.
We were so thirsty after a day of bicycle riding under the sun, we had a fresh watermelon juice and an orange juice for RM3 each.
It took them quite a long time to serve our food considering there weren’t many customers. But anyway, it was worth waiting because the food turned out to be very good. The fried kailan with oyster sauce tasted really good, the sauce was so flavoursome and the kailan was so crunchy. Perhaps we were really hungry at that time, everything taste like heaven to us!
We had a chicken tomyam soup for RM10. The tomyam soup tasted fantastic, perhaps the best we’ve tasted in Tioman Island. It was sour and spicy, but with extra fragrance from lemongrass. Various vegetables were served too, they all tasted really fresh and delicious!
It was a very pleasant dinner at Liza Restaurant. Really hope that we can visit this island again, then we would be back for their good food for sure!
