Lorong Seratus Tahun (百年路)

Posted by: Wen Ching In: Malaysian Food

Since we just came back from the UK not long ago, there were many new places in KL that we have yet to explore. One of the malls that we haven’t been was The Scott Garden, which houses a large Tesco, a number of new shops and restaurants.

Lorong Seratus Tahun
The Scott Garden is conveniently located on Old Klang Road, which was a short drive from my place. We walked around and decided to dine in Lorong Seratus Tahun since my better half mentioned good review about this place.

Interior, Lorong Seratus Tahun
The restaurant was very easy to locate, it was situated at one of the front shop lots in The Scott Garden facing Old Klang Road. The interior of the restaurant was spacious and comfortable.

Hot Kopi Cham Teh, Lorong Seratus Tahun
For our drinks, we had a hot Kopi Cham Teh (咖啡参茶) for RM4.20. The drink was stronger in coffee taste and mildly sweet. It was quite a good order!

Kaya and butter toast, Lorong Seratus Tahun
Feeling hungry that night, we decided to have a kaya and butter toast (加央牛油烧面包) even though we already ordered sufficient mains. Priced at RM3.80, the toast was served warm with thick filling of kaya and butter. It was the taste of home that we enjoyed!

LST Fried Koay Teow, Lorong Seratus Tahun
For our mains, we decided to order a LST Fried Koay Teow (百年路炒粿条). It was stated in the menu that preparation might take up to 20 minutes. But surprisingly it was served first, very soon after ordering. Priced at RM9.90, this stir-fried flat rice noodles was very delicious. Although lacking in “wok hei”, LST’s version was fragrant and flavourful due to the generous serving of fresh prawns, eggs, bean sprouts and Chinese chives. Every bite was delightful!

LST Nyonya Rice, Lorong Seratus Tahun
We also had a LST Nyonya Rice (百年路娘惹饭) for our main. Priced at RM15.90, this dish was served with Penang chicken lor bak (槟城鸡卤肉), ju hu char (鱿鱼沙角), curry chicken, sambal, salad and rice. We thought it was reasonably priced and the portion was huge. The chicken was what I enjoyed most, it was soft and moist, soaked with Nyonya curry flavour. The ju hu char, stir-fried Jicama and cuttlefish, was one of my favourites too. It was simple and light, a nice contrast to the flavourful chicken and lor bak.

Cuttlefish and kangkong salad, Lorong Seratus Tahun
Finally, we also had a cuttlefish and kangkong salad (鱿鱼雍菜). Priced at RM8.80, we totally loved this! The rich rojak sauce and the crushed peanuts covered the crunchy vegetables and fresh cuttlefish underneath. The rojak sauce was sweet and spicy but not overwhelming, a winning combination with the crunchy kangkong and cuttlefish!

We loved the food and environment of the restaurant. Service was quite good as well. We would definitely return to try their curry mee and other local delicacies! Other than The Scott Garden, other outlets of Lorong Seratus Tahun can be found in SS2, Phileo Damansara and UEP Subang Jaya.
