When someone mentions banana fritters (pisang goreng) in the Klang Valley, a few big names come to mind. One of those big names is the SS2 Pisang Goreng shop. Banana fritters are a classic Malaysian snack in which a banana will be coated with batter and deep-fried until the outside is nice and crispy while the inside remains soft.

The van from which it operates will be parked outside Nasi Kandar Pelita in SS2 in the afternoons every day except on Mondays. Pisang Goreng SS2 is very easy to locate with another major landmark nearby being McDonald’s.

A wide variety of fried goods and snacks are available here. Popular items include the banana fritters, sweet glutinous rice cake layered with sweet potato & yam, mashed banana balls and deep fried sweet potatoes.

We have tried the sweet glutinous rice cake layered with sweet potato & yam (番薯芋头夹年糕) pictured above on the top left corner. It was an excellent snack to munch on, with a good amount of sweetness. We also tried their curry puff before which was a good choice for something more savoury.

Of course, the main star that keeps us coming back for more are the Banana Fritters (炸香蕉). The batter on the outside has always been crunchy yet thin and the banana on the inside was sweet without a texture that is too soft. These are probably our favourite banana fritters in the Klang Valley to date!
Overall, you simply cannot go wrong with SS2 Pisang Goreng! The fried goods here are assured to be good and they are bound to satisfy all cravings! For more information, do visit their website.
