Our hunt for good nasi lemak continues and this time we were at the much talked about Village Park Restaurant.

The nasi lemak here has been getting rave reviews and even won the 2011 Time Out KL Food Awards in the Blogger’s Choice category!

Always expect a crowd at Village Park. If eating in, one would probably need to wait for a table as the place tends to be full, especially during peak breakfast and lunch time. If getting take away instead, one would need to queue by the food display in order to place an order. However, don’t be discouraged by the wait. It is always a good sign if the place is full and people are still willing to wait.

They have other things on offer, as can be seen from the vast display of foodstuffs here. Although the nasi lemak is still the main attraction here.

For drinks, we had a Neslo for RM2.30. A combination of Nescafe and Milo, it’s hard to go wrong with something like this!

While we were there, we simply had to try the much talked about Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng priced at RM7.70. The chicken was very crunchy and flavourful, definitely a step above most others that we’ve tried and quite deserving of its rave reviews. The sambal was slightly sweet and rather good, though not the best we’ve had.

This was the Nasi Lemak Rendang Ayam. Priced at RM7.20, it is also a good choice for those who would like a change from the fried chicken.
Also worth trying is the sambal sotong which bears some similarity to a certain other nasi lemak we might cover in the future! The nasi lemak from Village Park was definitely an enjoyable experience, but not the best for us. We would definitely recommend the fried chicken above anything else!
