Again, I have to apologise for the delay in posting due to the new environment and new job which I am still adapting to. Last Christmas, I celebrated with two of my close colleagues and they brought me to Hot Tomato in 313@Somerset.
The restaurant was located at the basement of 313@Somerset, Orchard and there was a slight queue before we were seated.
The interior of the restaurant was bright and cozy, a very pleasant ambiance indeed.
We ordered three main courses and upgraded our meal for $3.50 to include a soup, garlic bread and a drink with our meal. We were served with garlic bread first.
The soup of the day was the cream of mushroom soup. We thought it was mediocre.
My friend had a Steak and Prawn with Aglio Olio as her main which was priced at $13.50.
The Sirloin Steak with Aglio Olio was priced at $11.50.
For me, I had a Seafood Combo for $13.50. The platter consisted of a combination of salmon, pacific dory and prawns. I thought my main course was not bad but it wasn’t the best that I’ve had either.
Food and service were not up to standard on Christmas. But the manager apologised and offered coffee. Perhaps it was a peak day for them and I would give the restaurant a second chance as the price was reasonable and the portion was generous.
