Publika is fast becoming a hotspot for casual dining places, cafés and food in general. Not too long ago, we made a dinner stop at The Bee!

The café makes for a very relaxed environment, perfect for sitting around for a friendly dinner. Couches were available also for a more comfortable option whilst cradling a cup of coffee. The Bee hosts live entertainment from time to time and a large space with a performing stage was visible from where we sat.

Outdoor seating was available for a more peaceful and natural environment.

Drinks for the night were Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice (left) and the Freshly-Made House Lemonade (right), priced at RM10 and RM6.50 respectively. The orange juice was natural with no added sugar, just the way we like it! The lemonade was not too bad, though one of us thought it was a bit too sour.

We ordered a whole bunch of things to share that night, starting off with the Chilli Prawn Pasta. Priced at RM19.50, this was a spaghetti dish tossed with prawns, cili padi, parsley and white wine. We enjoyed this dish as it was light on the palate with a hint of spiciness!

The Fettucini Carbonara was priced at RM18.90 and prepared with beef bacon, onions, parmesan cheese and egg yolks. This pasta dish was good as the cream was not too heavy and it was full of flavour.

This was the Chicken and Mushroom Pie, priced at RM16. It was topped with pea mash and gravy with a side of salad. The pastry was light and flaky which we thought was a plus. The combination of the pea mash and the savoury goodness of the chicken and mushroom inside the pie made for an enjoyable eating experience.

An Avocado Chicken Burger was priced at RM18. What we got was grilled chicken, house made avocado salsa, cheese, lettuce & house made aioli on a lightly toasted burger bun and served with fries. We thought the burger was excellent in terms of flavour, but our only gripe was that the burger itself was rather small. We were left feeling unsatisfied and we wanted more of the delicious burger.

Something that we recommend very much would be the Elvis Sandwich. For RM12.50, one would get a peanut butter and banana French toast sandwich fried in butter served with a side of crisps. If that description doesn’t attract you, we don’t know what will! It was delightfully sweet but with a pleasant balance thanks to the peanut butter. Definitely something that we would come back for!

We have not had churros since Barcelona, but here it is! The Churros with Chocolate Ganache was priced at RM9. Dipping this Spanish pastry into chocolate and consuming it was a very enjoyable experience. Fans of chocolate of sweet stuff will definitely appreciate it!
The Bee was a good dining experience overall and a place that we would recommend to friends for a casual joint with good food. This outlet in Publika is actually their second outlet, with the first being in Jaya One. Do check out their website for more information.
